Scott Free President Signs Production Deal with Apple

News of a pretty big deal for Apple TV+. Deadline says Kevin Walsh, president of Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, is leaving for an arrangement with the Cupertino-streamer. He’s setting up The Walsh Company under a multi-year deal to produce film and TV for Apple.

“After getting an Oscar nomination for producing Manchester By The Sea,” Deadline says, “Walsh joined Scott and oversaw worldwide development and production of Scott Free’s film group.” That included producing over a dozen films, including All the Money in the World, Death on the Nile, and co-producing House of Gucci. Of his new position, Walsh said:

I’m thrilled to keep doing what I love with Apple, one of the most successful companies in the world. Under Zack [Van Amburg] and Jamie [Erlicht’s] vision, they’ve built the studio into the premier destination for filmmakers, and I know it’s the right home for what I want to make.

On his roster - surprise! A Ridley Scott film. Deadline says Walsh:

…will produce with Scott and Mark Huffam the Napoleon Bonaparte-Empress Josephine epic Napoleon [formerly Kitbag], to star Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby.
