Apple has taken a more concrete action against banks in Russia. We heard yesterday that both Apple Pay and Google Pay had stopped working in Russia as a result of US and EU sanctions. This as Russia continues its assault on Ukraine. Now, a piece from iMore says the Cupertino-company has gone further. At least one of the affected banks has been removed from the list of institutions supported outside of Russia, according to the report. Assuming the rest will follow, iMore says instead of simply not working in Russia, “it appears that Apple is cutting off those banks from Apple Pay outside of the country as well.”
