Apple Pay Goes Live in Argentina and Peru

16 MARCH 2022 - Apple Pay has hit a couple of new countries. After Apple teasing early in the year that the contactless payment service was “coming soon” to Argentina, Chile, and Peru, 9 to 5 Mac says the service has gone live in two of the three countries. Citing a report from the Spanish language site Pisapapeles, 9 to 5 Mac says, “Apple has updated its Apple Pay availability page to add Argentina and Peru as the latest countries to bring the service to iPhone users.” The site has six banks supporting Apple Pay in Argentina along with five banks in Peru. Chile, meanwhile, is still hanging in Apple Pay limbo.
