Apple Computer-A Sells at Auction for $677K
22 AUGUST 2022 - While it didn’t come close to a million, that “controversial Apple-1” that had been up for auction went well past half-a-million. You probably remember the one I’m talking about. Advertised as being the Apple computer Steve Jobs used to sell The Byte Shop on the machine, that provenance was called into question by a couple of people who might have known. But the problem was they only might have known - could not say for sure. While later investigation seems to have confirmed the prototype assertion, bidding on the machine stalled at a little over $407,000. Stalled, but did not stop. The live portion of the auction hit last Thursday 18 August - and people found a little more money to throw at the kit. A piece from Apple Insider says the busted up machine sold for $677,196.
