Apple Releases Swift Playgrounds 4.1 for iPad and Mac

18 MAY 2022 - A day after a ton of Apple software updates, another Apple update. MacRumors says Apple on Tuesday released Swift Playgrounds 4.1 for iPad and Mac. Swift Playgrounds is Apple’s app that teaches folks to code and build applications. v4.1 comes with a number of helpful sounding features, including:

  • Letting users Build Mac apps with SwiftUI (as long as they’re using macOS 12.4 or later)

  • Guided walkthroughs for learning SwiftUI app building basics

  • Live updates in App Preview, so users can see changes in their apps as they make them

There’s lots of other stuff that I’m sure is helpful, but is also beyond my understanding. Though originally built for iPad, the Mac version sounds a bit more full-featured at this point. Anyway, the Mac update seems to offer more than its iPad counterpart. New features for both, though. The apps and the updates are free. They’re each available in their respective App Stores.
