Comedic Feminist Anthology “Roar” Hits Apple TV+ Friday 15 April

14 APRIL 2022 - There’s a pretty exciting show hitting Apple TV+ this week. “Roar” is an anthology series, based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern. Referred to as “darkly comic feminist fables,” a press release on the series describes the show, saying:

Spanning genres from magical realism to psychological horror, these eight stand-alone stories feature ordinary women in some pretty extraordinary circumstances. In “Roar,” women eat photographs, date ducks, live on shelves like trophies. And yet, their struggles are universal.

And the cast is powerhouse, including Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Alison Brie, and many, many more. I don’t know how this happened, but I missed the press release on the show when it posted a few weeks ago, so I missed the trailer as well. Kind of bummed. I would have been even more excited.
