Twitter guy sent this my way. What's with the fine print? I've got a call in to CVS corporate. If I find out anything, I'll let you know.
Update - 12/2/2010
So this gets a bit more odd/interesting/annoying. I called CVS corporate yesterday and was asked by the woman with whom I spoke to send the above picture. I did so, saying in the email:
Basically I got this picture set to me from a listener. In the fine print the issuer of the coupon (presumably CVS) says the 20% discount being offered does not include the iPad. This left us both confused. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Mac OS Ken is a daily podcast covering Apple news and news related to Apple news. The show celebrates five years of daily coverage in January of 2011. It's downloaded by thousands of people a day, all of whom would - I'm sure - be as interested as I am in why the iPad is listed on the coupon.
Thanks for your time and your consideration.
24-hours later, here was the response:
Hi Ken,
Thanks for your email. At this time, we have no comment.
So. Will CVS be getting the iPad? Seems unlikely that they will in any sort of official capacity. Are they, as I asked in the headline, pulling a TJ Maxx? Buying a few iPads to place in random CVS stores in the hope that word will get out that CVS has iPads, though perhaps in quantities as limited as those employed by TJ Maxx if not more so? Or will CVS have no iPads whatsoever, but hope that people (like me) will say "what gives?" and give CVS free publicity?
If that's what they're doing, they win. Which bums me out.
