As has become a tradition this time of year, I’ve gone through Apple’s site and checked how easy or difficult it would be to get the iPhone I’d want in Apple’s various SKUs.
As of Sunday night, a carrier-unlocked iPhone 13 Pro, Blue, 128GB shows delivery between 19 October and 26 October. The same was true for an iPhone 13 Pro Max with the same specs. One big difference there: I could opt to pick-up a pre-ordered iPhone 13 Pro Max with those specifications at my local Apple Store this Friday 24 September.
On the iPhone 13 mini - Going Blue, 128GB, carrier unlocked yielded delivery between 8 October and 13 October. That one I could also pre-order and pick up this Friday at my local Apple Store.
Finally, looking at a Blue, unlocked, 128GB iPhone 13 shows delivery between 5 October and 7 October. And - once again - that phone's available to pre-order and pick-up at my local Apple Store this Friday 24 September.
That said, a friend in L.A. was saying Friday that he couldn’t find Friday pick-up at any Apple Store in the City of Angels. So, they’re not all gone, but they’re not all over the place, either.
UPDATE 22 September:
I’ve run the same less than scientific, less than exhaustive check on the same phones as above. The mini appears to be a day or two “easier” to get, while the rest have slipped further into the future. Looking at the same specs as before:
iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max now shows delivery between 21 October and 28 October
iPhone 13 mini currently show delivery between 8 October and 12 October
iPhone 13 shows delivery between 11 October and 14 October
If those times leave you bummed, take heart. Each of those checks suggested I check in-store availability on Friday 24 September.
